I forgot to ask, are we responsible for putting labels and custom forms on each envelope before we ship it out or is that something that will be done by Jigsaw? Thanks.

Good morning.  I am wondering.  How do we package the squares that we send to Jigsaw?  Thanks.  I have 15 more squares done as of last nite and my husband just sent off two boxes to them.  They were just in plastic zip lock…

Too true. I tell myself that I can knit more sweaters and hats for my grandson, Cadyn and an afghan. I have too many projects in the works right now, actually enough to fill their own little house. But this yarn will make some very soft and warm go…

I think it's great to share yarn bargains wherever you find them. I'd have to mail order to get Vanna's Choice here, and I usually cringe at shipping costs, lol. Yeah I know, yarn wuss! Anyways while finding yarn bargains encourages…

Buy Vanna's Choice Yarn in the Northeast

Found the most amazing place to buy the above yarn this weekend.  Ocean State Job Lot.  They have stores around the Northeast only I am afraid which includes Rhode Island.  They carry all of the colors in 7 ounce skeins for $3.00 each.  They also carry the variegated colors in 6 ounce skeins for the same price. They also sell the Lion Brand 100% Wool in 19 colors for $3.00.  If you have one in your area, it is worth the trip.  They told me that this price was what they usually sold it for and…See More

I have the same issue. My gauge is never the same as a pattern calls for. I know if it says to cast on xx stitches on a #8 needle, then I have to use #5 or 6. If I used the #8 then I would have something that was twice as large as what the pattern…

I was at Joann Fabrics today. They have a package of Susan Bates plastic crochet hooks, white, sizes F through K or 3.75 to 6.5 mm for $3.00. Good deal. I use these a lot for my many projects and they work very nicely. Leslie

No problem. Now I don't have to keep looking and guessing and trying to figure out if I made it wide enough and long enough and if my sleeves are going to be long enough.

Ah, I do it slightly differently - I K the first stitch then K into the front and back of the second stitch to increase rather than yarn over or K2tog to decrease - so no holes. I must try your way for a baby blanket - the lacy effect sounds lovely. :-)

Hi Leslie, I don't seem to have holes at the edge - do you knit the first stitch and only increase/decrease at the beginning of the row? The squares are getting quite addictive!

Hi Leslie, good to hear from you and thank-you for your newsy note and lovely comments.

I must say that I have found that it depends on what stitch you are knitting as to whether or not you get a nice 8" x 8". Sometimes a bit of adjustment is required regarding the number of stitches used. It sounds as though your husband's aunt is just the right sort of person to have around - great effort with all the squares and good use for all her leftover yarns. It sounds as though you also are going to have a good time sorting out your leftover yarns. What a lovely idea using the same yarns for your grandson as those you used for your daughter 29 years ago. I'm sure it does bring back lovely memories.

Scotland is a lovely country. I have relatives living in Arbroath - a small fishing town on the east coast.

I love the sound of your two feline visitors and glad to know that they can rely on you to offer a good meal when they call. My two have a feral background and came to into our garden at around 5 months old. We gradully earned their trust over a few weeks and were able to encourage them indoor - with a trip to the veterinary surgery next on the agenda. With a clean bill of health and all that goes with looking after cats responsibly, they settled down to normal domestic life. Now they are 3 years old and have been fully fledged family members all along the way. Take care.

Hi Leslie,
Saw your comment on Angela's page about getting squares to be just 8". Have you seen the corner to corner pattern? I use it all the time and it doesn't matter what yarn or needles you use it is easy to get a square. Will post if if you are interested.
