I had to check about every 5 minutes when I felted the few things I have worked on. Then when you take them out of the wash they have to be blocked and smoothed out. I made a ring-bearer's pillow for a friend's wedding that I felted. It took 2 hanks of yarn and the pillow ended up about 6" x 8". But it was a very dense felt.
