Thanks Jeanne, that was helpful,is good to know what to do.But what is FYI?I'm sorry to give you a hard time but I hope soon to learn more and stop asking silly questions.LOve Kathy
Hi Jeanne! Thanks so much for informing me. I am pleased to hear when garments, slippers or whatever will not fit in one place, it will go somewhere else, in this case Zimbabwe. So good to hear that, because I know that they have also nothing at all and that KAS is a loving and caring organisation, knowing where and when things are needed. Sorry I can't very well express what I mean but I am sure that you will understand it. Also good to know which sizes to make garments and slippers, thanks for that too. For the blankets I know the sizes, but sometimes I get too emotional and want to have, of the left over wool, the best for the child, resulting in hats and babyslippers in the same colours as the blanket. Nonetheless Jeanne, all kids are equal to me and when the various garments, hats and slippers will be divided between (amongst?) children it is fine with me. As long as we can make the children smile. The more the better. Love and big hug, Anneke
I was thinking(which is always dangerous),and started undoing one square.Because is loose knit it can be undone with no much damage on my nerves. So I have decided to play with it,and make vests or jumpers which will be warm. How does this sound?
love Kathy
Thanks for the info re: stuffing in toys. I have some toys partly knitted and will finish them to send as add-ins with the squares. Brst, Arlene
Thank you Jeanne for the comment on the Izzy doll and green squares with sailboat. I only have one ball of that green and want to get more for backgrounds for animal squares. Question: is it O.K. to send stuffed dolls like this Izzy doll as long as the stuffing is new - I used polyester quilt bat stuffing, or do they have to be puppet style dolls without stuffing only?
It truely is my pleasure, i am glad of you reasurance as I know they need clothes but I also wanted to do some toys as well I will get some picks up so you can see what I am up to x
Jeanne, help! There are 10 squares(and wool for some more),around 40-40 cm and it is a stocking stich. What to do with that?
What are the slipovers?By what I'm reading they are made from thinner wool.I got some 4 play I thought to dubble for squares, but if this slipover thing is needed I can make that.
Very impressive work!!!
Thanks for the welcome and all the info. I'm enjoying it already!!
My crochet squares still seem to be a bit big, but I sent them anyway. Do we leave a long tail on both ends for sewing together or just one?
