P. Jeanne Haessler said… Hi Patricia. Glad to have you with us! I hear you, I can only do garter in knitting too or I get muddled up. Generally I crochet and I can even muddle that up! However, back to the Cuddle, I found one in my UFO (unfinished objects) pile and it's about 32" around so all I have to do is keep crocheting the tube til it's about 30" long then I'll start going back and forth instead of round and round, to make that front slit at the neckline for the last 5 inches. It sounds like you are headed in the same direction. You can indeed make the top collar bit wider if you like though I find just having the slit the last 5 inches works...you can turn that down if needed. See how it goes and let me know. There's nothing like adventuring with yarn! Hugs, Jeanne :)
Glad you liked the KasCuddles! Do remember to make them bigger now, as requested. Pam Antink has the dimensions. She asked me to rewrite the pattern but if won't be for a while as I'm only just out of hospital from serious surgery and just sending this from the laptop of the friend with whom I am recuperating.
(((hugs))) to you too!

And now we’re helping out over in Zimbabwe too and they need everything over there. I just love making a real difference in a child’s life. So welcome
Janet Lloyd said… Hi Partica and welcome to this friendly knitting family my second name is Patricia.
Hi Pat, just you wait till you see the lads knitting. Its taken some persuading but Ernie is being taught by his girlfriend Jean next week. I can see this is going to be fun. I'll post a picture of him when he has done a few rows.

Well done for having completed three squares - I too love the idea that my squares are mixed in with others from around the world.
Ramis said… For cheap yarn look at Kemps or Black Sheep Wools online shops. You can also try using two strands of 4ply yarn knitted together, with 5.5mm needles. 4ply looks expensive per ball, but you get a good meterage for it.
I was born in Caterham - the baby gift shop in the little shopping mall bit in the valley (near Morrisons) sells yarn, and they sometime have a bargain box. Look in there for Aran weight yarn, or grab two balls of 4 ply from the regular shelves.
