Knitting or crocheting an 8" square or two or possibly even a few is a wonderful gift for the children. They love to receive their blankets, created from squares, which come from kindly, caring folk such as yourself, from over 60 countries all over our world. PJs (Plain Janes as they are affectionately known) are the backbone of all our blankets. These are single colour squares that are in garter stitch(knitting) or single crochet as they are very solid and provide a contrast to a picture/striped/patterned square or two that may be added to a blanket.By clicking on the KASpattern book tab at the top of the page or our other square pattern discussion http://forum.knit-a-square.com/forum/topics/member-s-patterns-squaresyou can also find lots of patterns provided by our fellow K-A-Sers.
