Wendy posted a photoHi Wendy!
I looked at your photo album of vests (thanks for adding mine!) - if you look at Kathy Chantrells page she has pictures of 2 of your vests (blues and stripey) - thought I would mention it incase you want to keep a full tally?? I'll be starting my next one this week.

Hi thanks for your lovely comments about my go over. I love knitting them and trying to make them extra warm. I always double up the wool so they are nice and thick and I love trying to make them bright and fun also. x
Anneke said… Hi Wendy, Thanks so much. If you want to give it a try, the pattern of the crochet heart has been added to the forum. But first we need to do the Flags!!! That is such a wonderful challenge!!! Imagine all those flags in blankets! I have now finished 3 Flags and will upload them soon. :) Anneke

Arlene Guerin said… Thank you Wendy, My son did a 3 second sketch of the the boat and I graphed his idea. I'm still learning intarsia. Thanks for the encouraging comment! The little Izzy doll is fun to make and I hope some child will enjoy it too.
Maureen (Maudie) Anne Bryan said… Hello from Tassie Wendy. I am having fun looking through the Down Under group to see who esle is knitting for KAS in Aust.
Your work is just beautiful. Fresh and fabulous.
I'm glad you liked my jewel squares :-) But your talents are not "meagre"! Your photos all show good quality knitting and your sense of colour-mixing is wonderful!

Wendy thank you for your comments on my blanket. I cannot crochet either !!!! I can only do one stitch !!!! I have downloaded and tried to follow the tutorials on U-Tube for granny squares but I have to keep stopping it and ....say a few choice words.....then try again. Just by trial and error I can manage this one stitch I think it is a double crochet stitch. Like you I want to be able to crochet rather than knit when I am travelling and knitting needles are not very friendly if you have people sat either side of you. I take a bamboo crochet hook with me on flights now and nobody has objected yet whereas I would not try to get a pair of knitting needles on a flight as I am sure they would be classed as a "dangerous object". I use a 6mm hook and use two strands of DK wool. I personally think that the thicker the wool the easier it is to crochet...just what I have found. Give it a try. I still love my knitting but now I can crochet in a departure lounge and do not invade anyone elses space....and it is a good way of spreading the word about KAS as people often ask what I am making. Best wishes for 2012 Julia
Happy New Year Wendy!
I just wanted to let you know I have finished my first Wendy - Baby Ves. I really enjoyed knitting it, and it looks so lovely in real life. Thankyou so much for sharing the pattern, it will be used a lot from now on! I love the fact that the top section has such a lovely shape to it. Happy knitting, Kathyxx
Bev Jeffery said… Hi Wendy
Thanks so much for that info. I thought we had to use 6mm when I started knitting for KAS so I bought 3 or 4 pr. so I could have a few different things to knit at the same time if I wanted and I also bought some 6mm to send to S. Africa for the go-gos to knit with. But as I mentioned before I have been a bit disappointed in plain coloured squares as they seem too loose and thin. Like you I have bought a particular brand called 'Needles' and with the plain colours it seems to knit up thinner and looser than the varigated. Well, I have a couple of pairs of 5mm so think perhaps I will try those. Thanks again for your help. :-)
