Hi Kaye!  I agree, we can and ARE making a difference.  We'll wait forever for governments and they can't do what we're doing, directly to the kids.  Check out the recently added photos in the Photo section (click on it above) and you'll see some of the recent distributions and the newly warm children. :)  I have two fur kids, both shelter rescues...a poodle/terrier mixed dog and a grey and white "tuxedo" cat who got called Vincent because he's too lordly to be a "fluffy". :)  He is however also a complete goofball and loves laying on my chest particularly if I'm trying to work here or have on a dark sweater he can shed on.  I love bunnies, they are so precious.  Are yours dwarfs or lops or regular sized ones?  I knew one fellow who took his bunny to work and the rabbit ruled the hardware store, greeting customers and very sociable.  If you walked into a room in his house it would sit up on it's hind legs, take a good look at you and immediately hop over to sit in your lap to be petted.  Smart rabbit!   We have wild hares and bunnies here too, occasionally you see them in the woods or dashing across a street.  In winter they are white for camouflage against the snow, even prettier then!

Welcome to KAS, Kaye from over in Canada. I find KAS such a rewarding cause to be involved in and I hope you enjoy it too. I love bringing happiness to the little ones.  We're about to post some photos of some recent blanket distributions and hat and sweater distributions on the Photos page so do check it--click on Photos above. And I suggest joining the UK group in the Groups area, they're always discussing something, a right lively bunch.

Do check out the New Member Guide which is found by clicking "Main Page" in the header above.  To reach the Discussions just click Forum above. Any questions just PM me. :)  So, welcome to Knit A Square! Blankets and hats and sweaters direct from our hands to their hearts, a win-win.
