Hello everyone
As I am new to KAS and wandering around the site I see there was a great deal of discussion last year onthe size of the vest. Can any one tell me if the pattern we now have is the correct one to follow or should it be larger (ie longer ?) Bit confused on what to do as already have started and do not want to do too many if not suitable.
Thanks
Sylvia

Comment by P. Jeanne Haessler on February 2, 2012 at 5:16am Just stumbled onto the Blog site again so I want to pop in and say, Bev is right on the money. The original vest and sweater patterns were too short and didn't fit completely over the children's swollen little tummies in some cases so adding the 3 inches rather solved it. If one has finished a shorter vest, adding a 3 inch border round the waistline seems to do the trick. :) Happy stitching!
Many thanks for the advice, now I know what I am doing!!
Best regards Sylvia
Comment by Bev Jeffery on January 29, 2012 at 2:37pm Hi Sylvia
And welcome!
If you are referring to the original square vest pattern, the only thing you need to remember is to make them at least 3 inches longer than the width to ensure that they will sufficiently cover the bodies of the children. By adding a few extra stitches you can make vests that will fit older children too. With whatever lovely vest pattern from our pattern section you choose to knit..the 3" longer instruction is most important. Sooo glad you joined us and at some point in the future would love to see some of your work posted in the photo section... if possible. We love the inspiration of viewing our fellow members' work.
