?? I am new here. Is it more important that the squares are 8"/20cm or that I use 32 stitches?

I have started to knit with this 100 % Lion's Brand FISHERMAN'S WOOL now and by using 5.5mm knitting needles as the label recommends for 16 sts per 10cm

My square came out too large (8.5 x 8.5 inches). Therefore I went ahead and cast on only 30 stitches with the 5.5 mm knitting needles and that resulted in 8 by 8 ' squares.

I hope this is ok. My goal is to finish 36 squares by the end of January. I am on my 9.th square now. But I could always just use it for another local charity if it were more important for your ladies who will sew the squares together into a blanket that each square had 32 stitches, but then I would have to use a 5mm needle instead of your recommended 6 mm needle otherwise my squares (with 9mm ndls) could even be 9" x 9 ".

This wool only comes in light-beige, light brown and darker brown natural colors.

But they would be nicely warm and flame-resistant.

Thanks for letting me know ASAP so I can continue and, God willing get one blanket done by the end of January.

blessings in Jesus,

Monika
