i was recently nominated by my boss to be profiled in the worldwide company newspaper. i have been promoting KAS here at work and recruiting and teaching knitters/crocheters. we formalized our group recently and meet twice a month where we share ideas, teach beginners, and just basically have fun while knitting for KAS.
i'm thinking that any way we promote the cause is a good one. the artilce and ony be 60 - 100 words. here is what the HR girl wrote for the article
NEWS FROM MORGAN TECHNICAL CERAMICS
3/12/10
It has been just over a year now that one of our 30+ year’s employee Jackie Sousa introduced a wonderful charity called Knit-a-Square which helps the less fortunate children in Africa stay warm during the winter months. Jackie and many other employees started off knitting squares needed for blankets and soon enough the knitting took on a life of its own. They started knitting blankets, gloves, and hats along with other warm articles for the African children. The group started 50/50 raffles to help with the shipment proceeds and with the generosity of the Alberox family over 75 boxes of articles have been shipped. We all are very proud of the group for being so gracious and we hope that with the help of the 360 magazine the knitting group can become worldwide. Please if you are interested in helping the children in Africa please contact Jackie Sousa at 508-985-5341 or go online to www.knit-a-square.com. All donations would be greatly accepted. Thank you.
