Dear Andrea,

It was a pleasure for me too, to talk to you.  As the end of March approaches for my self-imposed mailing deadline, I will probably contact you again.  Great work on your 2011 square contribution.

The best!

Mili

Thank you for kind comments Andrea.. OUr daughter in law is Andrea too. I am going in to get a quote for publishing the two books in Tassie - It might be a scary price. It is just that I wanted to factor in some donations from the sales to KAS but if I buy them for $15.00 then charge people the postage there will not be any KAS money. Anyway I will report back on my findings. I have put a few photos in the "Wool-Girl has fun" book on Marion Bay on the East coast.

We go up to Canada regularly.

Bye for now M

Hi Andrea!

Thanks for your message.  I did this with a load of small squares I discovered when clearing my late Mum-in-Laws house, and posted them off to SA.  However, until Christmas there is a retail chain over here called Jigsaw who are accepting squares into their branches and they will pay to transport all the squares donated over to KAS in SA. But they will only accept squares, nothing else, so whilst we are able to take the opportunity of not paying any postage, I thought I would ask for help! if I get any donated after this, I will make them up again as you suggested (oh wise one you!!).  The response I had to my plea for help was amazing, there are so many really lovely people who love knitting for KAS.  Thanks again for your sensible advice! Love Kathyxx

Thank you, Andrea-the photo was actually taken about a year ago and the baby is my gorgeous little grandson Charlie. The photos I have had taken more recently  with my grandaughter Isabelle show me looking rather overwhelmed having just had to deliver her at home unexpectedly! (Apart from a few more wrinkles and grey hairs I just look the same now, I think)

Andrea, I feel like rather an idiot-after reading your posts yesterday I thought I would look at how I crochet and -surprise!-I wind the yarn round the fingers of my left hand already! I honestly couldn't have described what I do, I suppose I have been doing it for so long! I cannot remember what the first item I crocheted was but I know that one of my first knitted items was a pair of slippers in thick white carpet wool (with pink pompoms so I loved them even them) made when I was in primary school being taught by nuns! Not the most practical things ever ;) I still have a few granny square waistcoats from my student days-interesting colour choices!!

Hi Andrea, I think it is easy to see that you are a graphic designer as your squares have such visual  impact. I do think it is great that everyone has such different ideas and styles to share as it keeps us learning new things. I am definitely going to try winding the yarn round my left-hand fingers, though I suspect after 50 years of doing it one way I may find it a little difficult to change! Thank you for the friend invitation, I am delighted to accept!:)
