Hi Christine! I'm sorry it took me so long, but I finally got your squares added to the tally! I had to go out of town for a few days and so I just now had a chance to do that. Let me know if you need me to add your other squares, once you get them mailed. I am so sorry to hear your pain has been so bad, I definitely know how that can be! Take good care of yourself and let me know how you are doing! I'm praying you get some relief soon :)
Hi Christine! I will gladly add your 19 squares to the tally! I actually have some to add myself (forgot to do it when I mailed them a couple weeks ago!).
Thank you for your kind comments! I do love making granny squares the most; it's fun to see and try new designs. But I also like working on basic grannies when I'm watching a show, that way I don't have to think about it too much lol!
Hi Chrstine, Please go to the U.S. forum group for current information about a fund drive to provide a newer vehicle for Ronda to take blankets and hats to the creches and squares to the stitchers. Donations in any amount are welcome.
Humble Stitch Project from FL is going to ship squares to S.A. for us if they receive them by Dec. 15th. Check the U.S. forum for the address. Jan Wilcox,OH
Hi Christine, glad to hear how you've rediscovered the joys of knitting. I agree that it is relaxing - and portable. I knit right up to the operating room door with the consent of my doctors while fighting cancer and a number of operations some years back. Robert Hoddy has a pattern on the site for a jewel pattern that I used as a guide for stitch count for approximations for picture squares. There are a few I posted on my page if you want to take a look. There are some beautiful examples on the photo pages. I hope and pray for the best for your Mother. Best to you both, Arlene
Welcome to KAS, Christine from up in Canada above MN. I find KAS such a rewarding cause to be involved in and I hope you enjoy it too. Do check out the New Member Guide which is found by clicking "Main Page" in the header above. To reach the Discussions just click Forum above and if you click on Photos above, you will see items that are heading to Africa, in all colors and shapes, plus those that have arrived there. If you click on Groups, above, you can join the enthusiastic USA group or any groups you wish, to chat with. Any questions just PM me. :) So, welcome to Knit A Square! Blankets and hats and sweaters direct from our hands to their hearts, a win-win.
And now we’re helping out over in Zimbabwe too and they need everything over there. I just love making a real difference in a child’s life. So welcome
