    Anne- The top one is done in a really simple pattern usually called Ringwood Stitch; it's the multi-color yarn that make it look so interesting. I've seen it in many different publications, so I don't think it's copyrighted by anyone. Cast on an even number of stitches: Row 1: Knit, Row 2: Purl, Row 3: (K1, P1) across, Row 4: Purl. --Jackie
