Thanks, Marina. I used the same number of chains for each strip, but used 6 strips instead of the 7 pictured in the Lion pattern, and bordered with 2 rows of single crochet. The overall size came out a bit larger than the 24"x36" size we've been doing for KAS baby-ghans -- more like 32"x44", so it could be used by a toddler as well. Hope this helps.
This is a lovely, lovely pattern and I will be showing this to the group as some of us like so much to crochet. Is this the right size for a baby throw for KAS as it is from the Lion Brand pattern or does it need any changes?.

Thanks, everyone, for your kind words. I was looking for a break from squares and came upon this pattern; I'm amazed at how quickly the strips worked up and I liked using the joining row to attach one to the other. I finished with 2 binding rows of single crochet to hide my tails and insure that this one stays together.
Paula, that is so beautiful...either for girl or boy....the little holes is what makes the blanket...I think I may just search Lion brand patterns out..keep em coming..
That's a nice one, good for 3 seasons of the year, never too hot. Nice colors indeed. Thanks for sharing as this does give an option to those who aren't so swift at doing squares. Me, I know if I did this the strips would all be different lengths. It's happened before, lol. But it's beautiful and I bet somebody else tries it.
