I know what you mean. Every yarn has a 'destiny to fulfill'. We just gotta find it. These bits are leftovers from making Kuku dolls for children.
I love scrap quilts, scrap squares. Reminds me of the way my great-grandmother worked - waste not, want not and in a way more of a challenge than whomping down $100 on luxury yarn designed exactly for a given pattern.
That's what impressed me so much about the finished blankets. The ladies really have an artistic eye, IMO. The finished blankets are each beautiful.

Don't knock left overs. I am currently trying to work through two big bags of leftovers donated by people my mom knows. Always good to get a different look and an interesting mix. Some of the yarns I have been given are really fluffy fashion yarns which are very popular to knits kids cardigans in but not easy for crochet however I will keep on going and get them used up for such a good cause.
