I've had the strips of this blanket knit for a while just hadn't applied myself to stitching it up. A thin oatmeal wool is used throughout to thicken the completed blanket up - almost 950grams in total weight once stitched !

I hear you, Sharon. When I knitted one a few months back in strips AND in 10 ply, I imagined how quick it was going to be.....I have no imagination.....lol. It felt like forever!!
Lovely blanket Karen, looks very snuggly. I have started knitting one in strips, instead of squares, it feels like it is taking forever to complete. But I will keep going ...
