I had lots of small scraps.Single Crochet makes it sturdy.2 Rows Single crochet around theoutside brings it all together. :)

  • Of course we have been told that some of the ladies in Soweto have been collecting up the little left overs from stitching the squares together so there may be many blankets using this very theme keeping little people warm. lots of ends to stitch in though.

  • It's 28 across, but wasn't quite big enough, so went around the outside twice with sc to make it 8 inches. Very sturdy!
  • Good for you Jana...I think all of us on the KAS forum are very sensible and not wasters...I love the colors...and gives me a good Idea....do you know what size you made it? I like that you used the sc....no holes that way..will keep someone very warm..

    Little scraps go a long way. I love to use up all the little bits in my suqares. I find it very satisfying.

  • Wow - this is such neat work and a nice blend of colours, too. I like the idea of the edging. I think it will also help the sewers to put squares together more easily.
