The chain square is the easiest Jana, I start with joining f4 chains for the beginning, then in the first round I only use 3 chains and in each subsequent round I use the 2 chains in the corner and 1 chain between. I found it was a little loose at the beginning if I followed the original directions, but I guess that's the way I crochet.
Thanks for your encouragement, Jeanne. I just dug up that grey and burgundy mix recently from the basement. It is chunky, but i don't remember the brand.
Oh Paula what great color combos, so vibrant some of them, so peaceful some of them and both have their place. I love how that variegated yarn worked out on the square lower left. I'd wear a sweater in that in a heartbeat. You don't happen to know what the name of it is, do you? You also have a knack for combining darker colors we might think were hard to put in a cheerful square, with brighter ones and they look great--like the grey and pink, lower right or the brown and hot orange in the middle. Well done indeed!
