  For the vest, just use your favorite square motif pattern, and add the shoulders. The back I just did straight dc's back and forth... Then, join together shoulders and sides, work a row around the bottom to give it a nice finished look, and you're done!

  Dawn - we are extremely lucky in Florence to have great yarn supplies. There are yarn and fabric factories in the nearby town of Prato, and overflow often ends up in the open-air markets for about 1 euro per 100 grams. It often doesn't have labels, but we have lots of fun with it anyway! I feel very fortunate...
