Square Circle Forum

"Variety is the Spice of Life"- and this month's theme offers plenty of variety whatever your level of skills in knitting or crochet.

Let  your imagination run riot with  yarn, colour,  stitch  and texture to create squares, blankets, hand warmers or toys, whether a  traditional crochet granny square,  in knitted garter stitch -  we love Plain Janes  - or in the wonderful range of variegated yarn.

Or try your hand at something new  - there are lots of ideas on the KAS Pattern Book

Do share your pictures of grannies, garters and variegated wonders  on the KAS Square Forum page - under Photos and also under Discussion Categories for the October 2017 theme.   We look forward to seeing them.

Update:  Linda has kindly created two photo albums of the beautiful squares, blankets, toys, hand-wrmers and hats that KAS members have made this month to far  - an amazing and impressive collection with many not featured on the specific October page, so do take a look at the links below.

With apologies, I prepared this introduction ages ago with lots of your lovely squares as examples of grannies, garters and variegated wonders - but I have spent all afternoon trying to post it, and it keeps telling me I am way, way over the no. of characters allowed. I admit I am not very IT savvy, but I have resized images, edited the text to no avail. So instead - here it is in plain words.

I look forward to you all adding lots of colour to this month's theme.

Exacly the same for me, it took for ever to add messages I had to press refresh, with the possibility of loosing the text but it worked sometimes.
I managed to send a message to Susan with good wishes. Machines...!

Thank you ALL for such positive replies to my computer problem. I have been buoyed up by your comments, given yesterday I was ready to tear my hair out, saying "I am not doing this again"!

I am stilt getting the same message about too many characters when I try to load even just one image,  though my introduction did not strike me as any longer than usual.

So  now -  let's focus on  this month,  and seeing  lots and lots of your squares on screen! .

Three "Grannies" - with more of this design to follow, hopefully to make a blanket alternating with some Plain Jane  "Garters".

These are very pretty, Susan.....and dare I say the BLUE just sets the centres off, perfectly. They will make a lovely blanket....no pressure.  :))

These are super - what a lovely idea - the bright colours of the cars is inspired!!

Gorgeous squares. Superb job, Amy. Love the yellow one, well all of them. A pleasure to see while having my coffee. Thanks Amy!

Wonderful unusual squares, Amy, which I am sure will delight the children. I like the way you chose four different strong colours for the cars.

Very cute! Girls will enjoy them, too!

You are so right, Debbie. I love cars.

I loved playing cars with my sons when they were little. I love the squares, yours too Susan . All nice and bright.

Oh Amy, these are fantastic!!! LOVE the colours and the wheels are so cute!!
