Hi from snowy Melton Mowbray - I was wondering if you had seen my post in the UK discussion group about the KAS 10th birthday party I am organising this August. It would be lovely if some of my local East Midlands KAS sisters were able to be there.
You can also see photos of the event on my personal page, please feel free to browse. Also here is a link to the magazine that runs the event: http://live.yours.co.uk/.
If you have this time free and you would like to join us that would be wonderful. I dont have the final details as yet but as soon as I do I will post a new discussion on the forum. This year will be our 3rd year. We always have a great time, meet some wonderful people, good food and entertainment but at the same time raising awareness of KAS. :)
Greetings Julie from across The Pond in the middle of Canada! I'm an ex Brit, hail from up in Yorkshire, but lived in Birmingham til we emigrated. Welcome to a worldwide network of loving happy people helping African Aids orphans. Glad to have you with us. It's so heartening to know that in this global, often so impersonal world, we're actually making a difference, a REAL difference, in the lives of these children. Check out the Forum, above, for the various discussion threads, and Photos for all the lovely photos of members' work and Groups where you can join groups from countries around the world.
The Featured Discussions grouping (in the Forum section) show the most important subjects at the moment, latest challenges, latest news etc. I also recommend the Anyone Want to Chat Discussion section, which contains the Our Furry Companions and Yarnaholics threads. I am so much a Yarnaholic! Thanks again for helping the AIDS orphans in Africa!
Hi Julie, Welcome to the KAS Forum from the UK. I hope you will enjoy being part of this friendly & lively community. Do you knit or crochet or both? We now have our official KAS Pattern Book with all the garments and squares that have been found the most useful to distribute to the children. Just double click on this link : http://forum.knit-a-square.com/page/patterns
For further questions click on the Forum tab for FAQs, How do I or KAS - Questions, Answers and Help.
Very glad your friend directed to you our global knitting family! Check out the Hello & Welcome Letter by clicking the "Main Page" tab above. There you will find all kinds of information about KAS. Another great section to look over is the Photo tab - everyone is so supportive of the work on display.
