The pattern for this hat is one shared by Kathy P. The instructions are very clear. I will use bigger needles next time. Other than that, I'm very please with the result.
Hi Sharman, Re: the 2014 JULY V Neck Vest Turquoise Pink Blue and Yellow 24 Chest photo I posted. Yes, I did write down the pattern as I made it and a couple of others in different sizes and versions. I haven't typed it up yet, but the instructions are relatively simple. I wanted to make a vest that could knit up quickly with very little sewing up (if any ! - I am not good at sewing up knitting). It is knit on circular needles and, where the upper area divides front and back, then garter stitch for more stretch for growth and warmth too.
Hi, Please go to the US Forum for current information about a fund drive to provide a newer vehicle for Ronda to take blankets and hats to the creches and squares to the stitchers. Donations of any amt. welcome. Thanks, Jan W. OH
Thank you so much for the info. You are correct and I will have to find a long term solution. My problem is I have been knitting too fast, maybe because most of my squares are variegated yarn in garter stitch. My wallet for shipping can't keep up with the squares. I have not given up yet.Thank you again.
You're very welcome for the hat pattern, Sharman. I was looking around on the Bev's Country Cottage site and found it under the "loom knitting" section and was like "why the heck did I never think of this!" I've got some thin yarns this would be super for as they stiffen up if I double them, so this does the doubling for me but with the stretch still in them! :)
No worries Sharman, they are fantastic squares! Postage is a bit expensive but we always send via seamail which is quite a bit cheaper. I think the more you send the cheaper it gets but your local post office should be able to help you work out the cheapest way. Good luck Sharman and thank you so much for your awesome contributions x x x
