  • More photos from Athele on her Road Trip Distributions...

All told we managed to find some of the most vulnerable children in this community to bring a little comfort and colour with love from all the KNITASQUARE donors from around the globe who bless our little outreach with all these goodies to give.
I’ve captioned a few pics where I have something extra to add.
So so grateful to all who made it possible for us to give 23 more blankets into the far flung villages of Venda.

Many of the hats in these distributions were from Karen G.  Thank you.
    • Fabulous photo coverage, and yes almost every picture has a child with one of my hats, Thank you!  Happy tears here xx

      • Ah Karen. That makes me so happy. You are such a wonderful supporter and your beanies are always hot favourites. Truth be told I never have enough they're that sought after in these desperately impoverished commuters we serve. Estelle made a special trip out to me the day before I left to make sure I had all she had of yours ... 20! All were snapped up 🤩🙏🏻🤗🤗

        • Oh what a lovely reply Athele ♥️.   I think the brighter colours work so well for these hats.   It's also a great way to stay on top of leftover use x

          • Sending big hearts your way and thank you 🙏🏻 🤗🤗

    • Wonderful photos, so happy that these beautiful children have a blanket and soft toy to cuddle on chilly nights

      • Thank you so much for your kind encouragement 🙏🏻🤗🤗 It is always a privilege to be the last link in this beautiful chain of love and thoughtfulness.

        • Athele, I sent this link to our youngest daughter, she and her husband are going through the process to adopt a young boy from Sierra Leone.  Susannah and Reggie visited the orphanage for a couple of weeks in July. They said it was heartbreaking seeing the children in the orphanage but even more so seeing young children wandering the streets.  If everything goes according to plan they will return to finalise the adoption in December.

          • So many blessings on your daughter and her new little family in the making's journey 🤗🤗 That little fella will be so so happy to find his forever folks 🙏🏻💜

  • A report from Athele during the week of September 23...

I had a Very rare privilege today … giving these Quadruplets each a KNITASQUARE blanket, soft toy, beanie And a lovely pair of socks. They are four of Twelve children living in Nkotswe village in Venda, close to our borders with Zimbabwe and Mozambique. Their very grateful father sent us these pics to share with all the donors. Three of the four are squares from our wonderful Cath Riley in the UK.

Linda Curtis, two are ones who sewed together beautifully. So grateful to be a small cog in this big beautiful wheel of caring.
So grateful to Estelle McLeod who always keeps us supplied with squares and all the other goodies whenever I let her know I’m going on my travels.

I did take some pics but most of the quads were crying most of the time because they e never seen a ‘makua’ (white person) before. We are in a Very remote part of SA.
