Hello everyone.  What a huuuge site this is!  I've spent several day's worth of free time wandering around.

I've crocheted for a long time, decided to learn to knit, and that's how I found this site.  Ah, the joys of internet rabbit trails.  :)

Anyway, glad to be here.  This seems a very friendly place.  I'm going to try to be part of the community, might possibly start a "blog" here, that sounds like fun.  I've finished two crochet squares so far, and will start on the next tomorrow.

So far my first attempts today at knitting were laughable, but when I manage to actually create a piece that's worthy of not unraveling, then I will start knitting some too.  :)

Take care all!

~M

  • Hi M....and welcome to KAS from over here in Oz.

I've been a member for almost 3 years now and still make new 'discoveries' from time to time....although still technologically challenged it has helped me become more computer savvy (some may disagree...lol). The joys of being part of this great community are many and varied and I hope you will enjoy being 'one of us'.   :))

  • You hit the nail on the head M when you mentioned the internet rabbit trails - the KAS Forum has grown organically over the years, and just sometimes you feel like Alice in Wonderland falling into an unforeseen drop! Anne Powell (Canada), the Forum Housekeeper, has been endeavouring to make it easier to navigate, but hey, even getting 'lost' you can still make interesting discoveries!

See you are attempting to learn knitting - good luck!  Check out the KAS Pattern Book on the menu bar, you'll find some lovely knitted and crocheted squares and garments!  We have a wide range of skills amongst the membership, but the vital ingredient is the love & caring that is put into the squares - that quality is what really adds value!

  • Hi M, thanks for joining KAS :) yes, we are a very friendly batch and it is great to make friends with fellow crafters from all over the world. Greetings from South Africa :)
