I have been blessed to receive yarn from loved ones over time and was searching for something awesome to make with it. This is it. I'm so excited to find this project and be a part of something so great. I'm looking forward to starting tonight.

I am also new but have made many squares, a vest and a few toys. I have a portion of my living room that has my yarn...there was a time I would put it away at the end of the night, now I just leave it out on the couch. I think I may be addicted.
Oh dear Jennifer, you've got the symptoms of KAS disease - no cure I'm afraid! However, it is a positive addiction that produces results and helps to make the children feel loved and valued.
Pam is right though either you do NOT own a cat Jennifer, or yours is incredibly well behaved!!!! LOL

I did respond to you but not in the right place I suppose. One cat is very well behaved but only for me. The only whom I may attempt a photo shoot enjoys making a terrible mess. I've learned to only leave out what I'm willing to have to re-wind up or pull cat hair out of. I like the word 'yarnguini' Ann, that is just what it is :)

Donna Radu coined the term after finding a whole load of yarn in her "stash" which had tangled itself up while she wasn't looking....she put some good pictures up. I've resigned myself to some extra cat hairs on squares. If only I could collect and spin it all!!!

Indeed...cats LOVE KAS projects I've discovered, Jennifer. My cats delight in making me think they're not interested in knitting any more....so I lower my guard and leave wool/squares/etc in the lounge at night...and lo and behold I find what's known as "yarnguini" EVERYWHERE in the morning. Pam's right KAS knitting is definitely incurable!
I too am very glad to have you with us Robin. There's lots of photos around the site for you to see what others have been up to. And by the way, I realize you might be perfect at this right off the bat, but I wasn't, so if your squares turn out 7 1/2" or 9" they will still fit into a blanket, even odd shaped ones...I sometimes have to correct mine, their edges go in and out...they get used up too. The Yarnaholics thread over in the KAS Cafe section might be something you identify with...it's for all of us with yarn stashes and our never ending battles to diminish our stash while never being able to walk past a new yarn or one on sale without succumbing, lol!
