Hello! I do knit and crochet. I actually Googled "knitting for charity" and found KAS. I've already got some squares finished and am working more before I ship. What a wonderful charity; I used to work for a non profit dedicated to taking care of people who are severely disabled, so I understand how many wonderful groups are out there and how underfunded they are.

 

Can you tell me if KAS accepts baby booties? I have several of those made as well since they make good shower gifts.

    Good to meet you Elyse!  I agree with Pam.  While we're working with 2-3 year olds and up, there's desperate need in Zimbabwe and more trucks will be going there in future, so if you have any baby items laying around, do send them. Thanks!

    Hello Elyse, glad to have you aboard and thank you for your kind words about KAS and its members (Kasers).  Yarn workers are really good hearted and all around the world have united to 'get on with it' and take direct action to make a difference to the lives of these deprived children.  Please do send the booties, if they have enough in S. African they will be forwarded on the next shipment to Zimbabwe - who are sadly in desperate need.  Nothing is wasted with us!
