  • Hi Chris...and welcome to KAS from over here in Western Australia.

Wow! Pam is right...you and your daughter are seriously outnumbered...lol. I have 3 sons so I know what its like. :)

If you haven't already done so, do check out our welcome message on the 'main page'. There is loads of information there to help you get started.

As Pam has said, when you have completed some squares, and if you would like to, please add your squares to the photo section by clicking on the 'photo' tab at the top of the page and following the prompts. We love to see what our fellow KASers have been creating. Please be reassured that whatever your skill level and whether you like to knit 'plain janes' (they are our much-needed one-colour, garter stitch squares) or something a little fancier, everything is so appreciated by the children.

Any questions...please ask...we are a friendly, supportive bunch who love to help each other out.

Most of all...just enjoy being 'one of us'.

  • So are we Chris - for info 35 squares equals a complete blanket, but we don't expect you to complete that in one go!  Did your daughter arrive after all those boys?  You and her must have been outnumbered in your household!  Don't forget to add your squares to the Photo tab.

    • Thanks for the welcome Pam and Bev.  Our children range in age from twenty-three down to five years old.  Our daughter is fifth of our six.  I'm not very good with computers and following my way about forums and as for adding photos, it isn't very likely I'll be able to figure that one out!  I've recently got back into knitting after twenty years of not doing any and so far have made baby cardigans for my friend and a baby blanket but mostly I enjoy making topsy-turvy dolls.  My squares won't be too fancy in design but I can make them colourful.

      Chris

      • Colourful is WONDERFUL, Chris.

When you have a package of them ready to send, don't forget to add them to our "2012-Knit a Squillion Tally". This can be found in the discussons list on the main page...and if you have any trouble adding them, just message me and I can do it for you. :)

        Happy knitting.
