How do I know my squares got to Soweto?

Hello Everyone!,  I'm a newcomer and a returner!  I eventually made to the number of squares I wanted to send to KAS and sent them about a month to 6 weeks ago.  I put my email on a note in the hope that I would get a quick reply as a starter that my squares arrived.  I have heard nothing so am wondering did they arrived.  I put them first class post from Wales so it would take days rather than longer.

Could anyone out there tell me if I followed the correct procedure?  And what should I do in future.

Unfortunately, I am a slow knitter - I'm on the 15" vests at the moment but nevertheless I need them to arrive properly.

Thanks everyone!  Bev

  • Hopefully Beverley, some day soon we will receive the kind of monetary donations that would allow the team in South Africa to have some kind of paid assistants to perform tasks such as logging square lists and emailing KasFolk that the parcels have arrived immediately, but until then everyone is a volunteer.

As Christine says it can be months before we know, and many of us have stopped checking because they do appear eventually!  So please do not become disheartened.

    • I am happy now I know things don't get lost.  It'll turn up.

  • Here's a short cut Beverley if you have any problems, click on this link :

    • Hello Pam,

I have looked at the list in great anticipation but to no avail.  It seems the squares didn't arrive or you get so many it takes time to update the list.  I look through the lists for Jan, Feb, March.  Anyway, when I send more I will check if I'm doing it correctly, I'm sure I am.

I put my email address on the note it is: bevdjones1364@hotmail.co.uk so it could be traced by that.  It's only about 7 squares - I'll catch up again!

      • I'm sure your squares will have arrived but from UK they can take 6-8 weeks to arrive, then the parcels are opened and recorded and so it can take about three months before you see your name. It is reassuring when you do but apparently not much goes astray and sometimes you even get to see your items on a child which is always a thrill.

        • Thanks for letting me know the timeline.  I feel better now knowing that things don't go astray, I will just wait.

  • Hi Beverly, Go to KAS page  and at the left side you will see a list that says  square list. Just click on that and you will get the square lists. You can find the link to the  KAS page at the top of this page.  Hope this helps.
