MANDELA DAY
In honor of Mandela Day 2023 we would like to share the
National Anthem of South Africa adopted in 1997.
WHAT'S ON YOUR HOOKS AND NEEDLES?
This month has been filled with lots and lots of
TURQUOISE squares our Color of the Month.
We have also seen quite a bit of stash busting going on with creative and imaginative squares by our members.
Visit this discussion for inspiration...who knows what will be
coming off "Your Hooks and Needles".
All of our team members have been busy this month with distributions.
The temperatures have dipped down to freezing.
There was a special distribution on
Mandela Day, July 18, of 78 blankets.

During MAY we recorded 202 parcels containing 16.733 squares, equal to 478 blankets!
Many other items were received, such as hats, hand-warmers, cuddly toys and other goodies.

Let your imagination run wild as you Explore and Discover what you can create with yarn for our children.
COLOR OF THE MONTH
Black will be the COM.
Black is one of the colors found the the flag of South Africa.
Black makes other colors *POP*.
We learn using BLACKboards,
while lettering elsewhere is BLACK.

I found that a few years ago...I love how all the languages are incorporated into the National Anthem.
