Sock Bunny

Hello dear KAS friends!  I found this adorable tutorial today, on one of the blogs I follow.  The blog is well worth reading, this young lady is an incredible individual.  She is fighting advanced ovarian cancer, but she is one of the most upbeat, uplifting and joyful people I've ever run across!  So, in addition to checking out this pattern, you might want to read some of her posts!

I thought these sock bunnies would make great soft toys for the children and they are so quick and easy!  Here is the tutorial link, if you would like to check it out!

 Have a wonderful day everyone!

Hugs!

  • Mary Anne I've just seen this and I am SO going to use it.  I can't send the larger stuffies/plushies I find in Thrift stores as the weight sends the postage sky high, SO I have decided to make and hand stuff toys to send as they are so squishable and weigh tons less.  I've got some flannelette to make the triangular type dollies I've seen on here, now to try the sock bunnies! I've got lots of that polyester stuffing, that is so lightweight, just sitting here, and these bunnies are SO cute!  Thanks for the pattern link!  I'm excited to go looking for neat patterned knee high socks.  I might even get my sewing daughter involved in this one!  :D

    • Aren't they adorable?!  So glad you like it and that you will be making some.  So funny you say that, because I had a bag of polyester stuffing sitting around, then I found a bag barely opened at the thrift store!  It definitely is much better for mailing!  I can't wait to see what you make!

  • That is so great that your grandmother showed you how to do that!  A lot can be done with a pair of socks and I'm sure it was a great way to keep you occupied LOL!  Be sure and post pictures, even if they are for your niece & nephew!

  • They are so  cute !!! I made a doll from socks a couple of years ago which I put on the forum photos.. My grandmother taught me when I was a kid so I would have playmates for the school holidays!!! and to keep me busy no doubt. It's a great inexpensive way to make soft toys. I'm going to go looking for a bright pair of socks and I'll try the bunnies out on my great niece and nephew for Easter. I'm gessing smaller ones might be better for posting to SA.
