Hello dear KAS members, I was perusing the latest Lion Brand newsletter with great fondness as they so kindly helped introduce so many of you to KAS.
They have a knit-a long for charity event for the next five weeks where you can introduce your favorite charity and tell them why it touched you. Well I figured firstly that would be a great opportunity to spread the word about KAS and secondly it would be good for Lion Brand to have lots of you visiting their site and thirdly more knitters may knit squares for KAS and fourthly more children would get blankets. Which means it is good for everyone.

Lion Brand Charity Knit Along
For Lion Brand, charity is a part of what we do and we know it is part of your lives as well. Instead of the regular knit and crochet-alongs, this summer, we have decided to try something different — we want to encourage you in joining us in giving back to others in a charity knit & crochet-along.
In the next five weeks, join us as you:
1. Pick a charity and gather materials
2. Set your goals
3. Share your progress with yarncrafters around the world
4. Send off your finished contributions
Please comment on this post and make a promise to make something for charity by the end of this summer. When you name the charity, please tell us why they have touched you.

Now that is a great idea! It's hard for me to get Lion Brand Yarn here except by mail order but if I do see some I'll consider giving them a yell since they generally expect you to use their yarn, of course. Even making a couple of hats would qualify. And we could link to KAS. :)

That's true Jeanne, a hat would certainly be enoughn to be part of the event and for the word to spread.
