Dear KasFolk,

We have a very exciting challenge indeed!

The Curro Aurora School challenge in South Africa to create the worlds' biggest handwoven blanket by July 14th and to be displayed in the massive CocaCola dome in Gauteng, to coincide with Mandela Day.

There are about 12 Curro Aurora schools in South Africa.  Each one of them will be involved and each one will involve other schools in their community to participate.

When the challenge is over, the blanket will be split into up to 2000 smaller blankets.

They have asked KAS to participate in this challenge.

Apart from ensuring that the publicity will continue to raise the tragedy of our orphaned and vulnerable children, KAS too will enjoy the publicity in South Africa that will come with such a huge awareness raising campaign.  And of course, so many more children will be warmed as a result.

In addition to loads of squares, we need to help all the schools involved: 1000 plastic wool sewing needles and any double knit wool/acrylic and appropriate size knitting needles.

Any donations of these would be hugely appreciated.

Come on dear KasFolk, let's see if between us and all these schools in South Africa, we can make the world's biggest blanket!
