So exciting, Vogue Knitting America has contacted us wishing to do a short feature on knit-a-square! Judging by the amazing response we had from Lion Brand, let's hope this generates a similar reaction and there are more squares soon to be winging their way to SA! Will let you know as soon as it is in the stands. Sandy

  • I have JUST noticed the upload files instruction at the bottom of the reply box. Do you think that means we can upload pics direct into the threads like on ravelry - I will experiment!

    • A better way to do pictures is to click on the little camera icon above the message field and insert the url, altho' clicking on the link you uploaded gave me a new window with a picture of a crocheted square, so Yes, it works!

The upload files might also work for word or .pdf files.
      • Thanks Rhonda, having experimented I was whisked off somewhere and it has taken me minutes to find this again. So will go the camera route. I see a whole world of uploading coming up. Thanks for your help, you are very knowledgeable in this area. Sandy
  • WOW! I too only just noticed this. That is AWESOME. I am sooo excited for the kiddies. Most people, bless their hearts, want to do good in this world but with the rush of life are vexed there's no time for it. Knit A Square gives everyone hope because all they have to do is knit or crochet a square. Just thinking of all the smiles this upcoming Vogue Knitting feature will generate on all the new contributors is making ME smile! Absolutely let us know which month the feature issue comes out in and I'll for sure buy a copy too.
  • Hey Angela, I'm glad you discovered this, because I had missed it too! This is great news for the Knit-a-Square group because the word will continue to grow and grow. I learned about the group from Ravelry. I was looking at the project pages for a particular yarn, and ended up clicking on an interesting looking square. Whooooosh! down the rabbit hole...and I landed at Knit-a-Square!

I have days when I spend too much time at the computer, looking at projects and reading posts, but adding pictures and project notes can also be time consuming. That said, I'm usually glad I took the time, because I would never remember things otherwise (needle size, etc.).

Sandy, let us know what issue of Vogue if you find out in advance! Rhonda

PS to Angela - Happy Birthday!!
    • Hi Rhonda and Angela, I am having the same problem and trying to be very disciplined, particularly as there is so much to do on the site now - but I just loved your description of falling down the rabbit hole. It is a bit of a wonderland isn't it. Sandy

PS I believe the publication date is 4 August, but it can take time to get onto the stands.
    • Hi Rhondah, glad to be of service!! Thank you, also, for your birthday wishes. Angela xx
  • Hi Sandy - this is wonderful news (which I have, through no fault of yours, only just come across). There is no end to this wonderful site - just when you think you might have explored pretty much everything, well, with another click of the mouse, there is much more to wonder at!! The only trouble is, I am likely to spend more time exploring the KAS site, as well as trying to fit in Ravelry, than actually knitting!!!! Angela x
