Hi Debbie, I've been away from the forum and just saw your note. Your cuddle is lovely. I like the shades of blue and a matching hat will indeed keep the child warmer.
Hi Debbie, the old cuddles were much smaller so I used 3 row of 3 squares = 9 squares. Sorry for the confusion ! I'm making a cuddle right now in the new larger size and using single crochet. I think if you make the squares in single crochet the cuddle will be nice and warm. I'm using a 6.00mm (US J) hook and bulky yarn.
Tunisian crochet uses a long crochet hook. It's a cross between knitting and crocheting. Here's a youtube video that explains how to do it. You would need a special hook for this.
Hi Debbie, I don't live quite as far north as Pickle Lake though my parents did live on Moose Factory Island for a while when Dad worked for Northern Affairs ( I was already working so didn't live there just visited )
I'm in Sault Ste. Marie, just across the river from Michigan. We travel in the states but I haven't been to Ohio.
Have you found any crocheters in your area ? I'm busy making squares with donated yarn. A friend asks everyone she knows for yarn for KAS so every once in a while she has a "few" boxes for me !
Welcome to KAS, Debbie from up in Canada above MN. I find KAS such a rewarding cause to be involved in and I hope you enjoy it too. Do check out the New Member Guide which is found by clicking "Main Page" in the header above. Blankets and hats and sweaters direct from our hands to their hearts, a win-win.
Welcome to the forum ! Glad you finally made it !! I also crochet but unfortunately live in northern Ontario Canada so it would be a bit of a hike to get together :-( But we can talk on the forum :-) I'm always willing to chat about crocheting.
There are probably a few people from Ohio that will respond to your request from the US group.
Just noticed that your blog is not appearing in public Debbie. If you click on your page then Blog Post, further down the page is a privacy statement if you click the "Everyone' statement then more members will get to see it. Good to see you joined the USA Group - they're a lovely bunch!
Hi Debbie...I'm a Debbie, too. Wish I lived closer so I could join your crocheting circle. I'm just outside of Philadelphia so too far to commute, I'm afraid. So glad you found us!

Hi Debbie, saw your query about crochet squares for a cuddle. Thought I would reply here, in case you didn't see my reply in the cuddle page.
It would work. I've made one using tunisian crocheted squares. Here's the photo link:

It's the old version of the cuddle (the new ones are bigger to accommodate babies up to 9 months ) so it was made with 7" squares.
Let me know how it turns out ( and photo too :-)
