Hi Paula!! Welcome to the forum from Clarkesville, GA! So happy to have you here! You must have been knitting for KAS for a little while, because I saw where you found your blanket! Isn't it a great feeling, to spot something you created, there in S.A., just waiting to warm a child?!?! You will find the forum to be an incredible group of supportive and inspirational people! I hope you will stop back often and share photos of your current projects!
If you have any questions at all, do t hesitate to ask!!
Welcome to KAS from Knoxville, TN! How wonderful for you to have already spotted a blanket you made in the forum!! Such a special treat! Thank you for joining us in our efforts to warm orphaned and vulnerable children in South Africa! So glad to have you!
Hello Paula so glad you have joined ! You might enjoy chatting with the US group as well [see the Groups tab above ] They have just raised enough money to supply a very poor creche with tables and chairs as well as play equipment. They are waiting for photos to see what Ronda and the team have purchased.
Here's some helpful info:
Check the KAS Pattern Book for garments and squares for the children. We are focusing on children aged 3-9 years old.
Please visit “Helpful Hints” [see menu bar above] for information:
- Questions you may have (FAQs),
- How to navigate the forum,
- Postage information and
- Learn when your squares arrived in South Africa! (This one you already know about).
We have a monthly challenge as well. This is a fun way to try new colours, ideas or patterns revolving around the theme. If you wish, you may create something new and different......it could be making a plain square using a new colour, a different stitch or trying a totally new way of knitting/ crocheting. An 8”/20cm square is the perfect size for experimenting. The October challenge is actually an ‘Unchallenge”. For the next two weeks, we are asked to have some extra fun while creating as many squares as possible! Click here to see how people are tackling this Unchallenge and please add your own squares.
If you are interested in joining any of our challenges, please note: Your parcel does not need to arrive in South Africa before the end of the challenge month.
We would love to see photos of your work and your daughter's ! Click on the photo option in the tabs above and follow the prompts.
Hi Paula! Welcome to Kas! If you have questions please ask, somebody is always available to help. Maybe you'd like to see pictures? Click on the "Photos" tab on the upper right hand side of the screen and you can see lots of photos of knitters and crocheters work. There is also pictures of distributions to the children if you want to see them. Here's a link to dist. pics

Most of all I hope you enjoy making things for these children, as well as the forum itself.
Happy knitting!
