Oh I do envy you both being able to meet up and enjoy each others company, whilst creating some 'joy' for the children. If only I weren't afraid of flying, I'd be there in a heartbeat, just to experience the fun of meeting you all. Glo speaks so highly of the RJSKs. :))
Sheila, I'm thrilled that you've joined our forum! I see our dear Bev has already "met you at the door" and showed you around. I'll add my welcome to hers :))) You'll find we are a very friendly bunch, so please make yourself at home, join in our discussions and have fun.
I hope you will enjoy everything there is to see and learn here. We've just arrived home for a few days and as you can see, for me the first order of business is to check the forum to see what my KAS sisters have been up to.
A warm welcome to the Knit A Square forum.....from over here in West Oz. :) I see that you are from River John. Are you a part of the River John Square Knitters, by chance?....and do you know 'our Glo' Grandy? She's pretty famous, here on the forum.... :))
Knitting, crocheting or looming an 8" square or two, or possibly even a few is a wonderful gift for the children. They love to receive their blankets, created from squares, which come from kindly, caring folk such as yourself, from over 60 countries all over our world. PJs (Plain Janes as they are affectionately known) are the backbone of all our blankets. These are single colour squares that are in garter stitch or single crochet as they are very solid and provide a contrast to a picture/striped/patterned square or two that may be added to a blanket. By clicking on the KASpattern book tab at the top of the page or our other square pattern discussion http://forum.knit-a-square.com/forum/topics/member-s-patterns-squaresyou can also find lots of patterns provided by our fellow K-A-Sers. If you would kindly check out our wishlist, you can see what items we are currently focusing on. http://square-circle-forum.ning.com/forum/topics/what-our-children-...
Clicking on the 'Helpful Hints' tab at the top of the page, will possibly answer many initial questions you may have .Any other questions...please click on the following link and ask there...
If you'd like to see what other KASers have been making please click on the photo tab at the top of the page....and feel free to add photos of your creations...we would love to see them. Just click on 'add photos' and follow the prompts.
If you want to see the most active discussions at present, please click on the 'main page' tab and they are listed in the centre of that page...just pick one and click on it. It is a large website, but with so much fun and info.
F.Y.I here is our 2019 themes list....these themes are just for fun and there is no pressure to join in. ANY squares you would like to make are most welcome and much appreciated. :))
