Terrell thanks so much for your kind offer to go for coffee. You're right, the visit was very jam packed. I can understand how pictures of toddlers sleeping on bare linoleum get to anyone but especially a nurse like yourself. It has motivated me to do more crocheting than I have in years and get better at it too. I saw a bit of the Minneapolis damage on the local tv news at the hotel one night before going to sleep. We're under a possible tornado watch for tomorrow but our geography usually means they're small, like F1's and F2's, unlike west of here on the flat plains of Manitoba which is under the same watch. Last time I saw tornadoes here in Dryden was 40 years ago and we got off light...tons of trees down and a few roofs off, some shingles, few crushed cars from trees but that was all. Hubby wants to see one. He may get his wish. I've lived through two and I'm good without thank you very much. :) Sure did LOVE the scenery all the drive down through Minnesota, it's so very pretty...and much warmer than up here. St. Paul was at 71-75 and we drove back into 45F and fog. Go figure. Makes one want to crochet even more!
Welcome to KAS, Terrell, I couldn't agree with you more, it's what spurs us on, giving children something warm to sleep in, particularly with their winter now coming on. I'm just north of you in Canada. You just had a tornado go through there I note, are you alright? I'm actually visiting Minneapolis later this week for a few days, I always love coming there as it's MUCH warmer than up here. It's about an 8 hour drive for us. I don't think I'll have time to go yarn shopping though. I WISH. :D
I find KAS such a rewarding cause to be involved in and I hope you enjoy it too. Do check out the New Member Guide which is found by clicking "Main Page" in the header above.
