Hi Mia...forgot to mention...we now leave only 50cm (about 18") 'tails' on squares for the volunteers to sew them together, otherwise the yarn gets too tangled up...I think in the instructions it still says leave a metre (yard). :)
Welcome to KAS from Western Australia. We are so glad you have joined our global knitting/crocheting family.
I see you are asking where to begin?? If you are requesting information on what is required for squares, (e.g. size etc.) might I suggest you click on the 'K-A-S' tab at the top of the page and it will give you this info (you will need to scroll down the page until you find the 'knitting/crocheting squares section). If you are looking for guidance and inspiration as to acceptable items...(pretty much anything is) you may like to click on the 'photo' tab at the top of the page and see what your fellow KASers have been creating...all wonderful!!
If you would like to read a little more of what KAS is about please click here: http://www.knit-a-square.com/Square_Circle-backissues.html. There are many heartwarming stories and pictures of the children wrapped in our 'blankets of love'
If you would like to post some pics of your finished items in the 'photo' section that would be great; we love to see what our members are creating.
