Karen Gordon has been hosting our theme this month and there have been so many incredible creations. You can read the discussion HERE.
A few of our volunteers have been going to The Barn to open the post as it has come in. Slowly, but surely items are now arriving from around the world.
Here is the link to this discussion.
You can find lots of patterns for PJs in our KAS Patternbook.
The first weekend of September, Athele distributed blankets in Jinka Joe Settlement. Please Check out this emotional and touching distribution HERE.
Please note: If you want to make a specific contribution for an item not found in our KAS Shop, you can simply write a note on your donation page. Ronda and her team are very good at making sure your contributions go to areas that you want to support.
KAS is only responsible for distribution of funds sent to the KAS PayPal account.
This means that our volunteers can travel to The Barn. Ronda will have Themba taxi them from Soweto, as she wants them to stay off of public transportation for now.
Gatherings can be as large as 100 people.
Everyone must wear masks.
Sporting Events continue to remain closed.
The titles of this month's Podcasts are:
Summer Harvest and Celebrating our Local Volunteers
OCTOBER....Gardener's Delight
Let's re-create our KAS garden from 2019 in riotous colour (pjs), flower pics and appliques.
NOVEMBER....Put on a Happy Face
Animal faces, people faces, emojis. Musical instruments, notes, colours of instruments or songs with a 'colour' in it.
DECEMBER....Better Late than never
Completing squares/blankets that weren't finished during the year, during specific themes. Creating squares from all those leftover 'bits' of yarn/balls/skeins that were started in earlier themes.
Our Knit-A-Long wound down during the month of September. We can't wait to see all the blankets and squares that arrive in The Barn that were a part of this fun experience.
We hope to have a Crochet-A-Long soon.
