Can you explain what "Leave a gift" refers to, please, if you have a moment to spare.

    • Ruth dolan August 14, 2017 at 9:45pm

Christine! You're in South Wales and I am in N E Wales (near Llangollen) I have been so fortunate lately to find a friend who works as a volunteer for our local CHALK charity shop, Pam Johnstone.  At CHALK they have lovely retirerd firefighters from the Oswestry Fire and Rescue service to take goods over to Romania, also they have a Removals firm who fill up their spaces with enormous vacuum packed  squares etcetera, for KAS and take them to Bryanstown.  She is a lovely lady who comes to collect my items and have a cuppa and a chat with me.  Some people say there is no God, but I find him over and over in people! x

Christine...Thank you for inviting me to be a friend.  If I make mistakes or fail to see your messages, please excuse me...as a Silver Surfer (85) I am a bit of a dum-dum on the computer sometimes!! (Mainly in senior moments) I'm very touched by your request. x

Thanks for my Birthday Wishes Christine. It is a lovely roomy bag that can be used for several different purposes. Enjoy x x

Thanks for the friend requests, Christine; a pleasure to accept. I've only recently started crocheting and find your beautiful squares and stunning blankets such an inspiration!

Thank you so much Christine for sending me such a lovely message welcoming me to your group :-)

I am 58 a mother of 2 and a Grandma of 3 and my eldest child was 40 just before Christmas last year!

I have knitted for most of my life and recently taught myself to Crochet too. I am really looking forward to getting to know all of you and of course knitting (& crochet) many squares too :-)

I inherited a huge amount of wool on cones from my husband's grandmother's estate when she passed away. She created many beautiful baby outfits on her knitting machine (which I also received) which is resting in its box in the loft untouched :-) as I admit to being a little afraid of it with its beeping and flashing lcd screen when it's plugged in and it's vicious looking hooks or maybe needles which look like they're just waiting to ensnare the sleeves of an unsuspecting hand knitter like myself! Lol

I think my husband will be the one who hooks himself into it to learn to knit with it!

I have a look at the coned wool it is mostly 4ply which will when 2 ends are twisted together will make some Lovely DK to knit squares toys and ?clothing? with for the children in Africa :-)

I am going to bed now but I will take a quick look at the patterns before I go to sleep so I can sleep on it.

This I find is the best way to get knitting patterns into my head so that when I wake up ( after my chores are done) I can sit and knit :-)

So I'll wish you all a very good night and pleasant (creating) dreams and I'll be back tomorrow knitting

      Kindest Regards, Sarah-jane Xx
