Ronda has expressed the need for a newer vehicle to transport squares and blankets. Helen Flagg has proposed to the US Group that we raise funds to help KAS purchase a car. The idea has gone global and there is an initiative on the forum about it. Check the latest ezine video at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VK9mbUrGWI&feature=youtu.be
Also, The Humble Stitch Project has offered to ship all squares received in Florida by Dec 15th to South Africa for us for free. Check out their offer and the address on the Forum in the US Group.
It is a good deal. For a one time donation of $7.50 you can download the calendar and print as many copies as you wish. (Though an extra donation would always be appreciated :-)
We are having a snowstorm today so I will be inside by the fire.....with my crochet hook and yarn !!!
I didn't know we got birthday reminders how neat. I always wish I had a girl on my birthday they are the ones who think of special things to do. I always tell my boys what to get me or a wish list. i don't know if this is bad to do but I get what I want. Well will write more tomarrow been on this computer too long
thanks Gail I have one more day at 54 I will be 55 tomarrow I always have to stop and think how old I am sometimes. At least I am wiser or so I think and have more life experience. Now the wrinkles are another story. ha ha
Gayle I just heard from Sandy that the first $500 from PP arrived back in May, at least she believes she mentioned it back in the May Ezine. Also Beth Moriarty has been on the KAS discussion boards here and she is like head honcho of PP. Sandy says no bulk arrival from Planet Purl yet but the last she and I heard was that PP was waiting to make a big bulk shipment.
Gayle, send me your email address and I will email the file to you directly -- you can use the Inbox here on the forum. It's a .pdf file, that you can then open up and print the full sheet. I just posted a picture snapshot of what one looks like.
Hello, Gayle! I am a 3-hour drive from the horrible flooding in Nashville and middle Tennessee. I'm in Knoxville in East Tennessee. Thanks for the welcome to this group. It's been fun reading about other KASers and seeing what they've been up to. There is certainly some real talent out there in the knitting ocmmunity! I also love the amount of newcomers who have learned to knit as a result of this call for the children!
