Hi Maureen, Your litle Girls are so cute !! LeeLee reminds me of my crossMaltese/Poodle who passed away some years ago. What a princess, never realized she was actually a dog. Your puppies are not so 'old' and with the love and care I am sure you lavish on them, you will have them around for many years yet. My Muffin lived to be 15 and left a great gap in our lives when she left. Jen x

Hi Jessica, Thanks. I am glad you like "The Girlies". They are Maltese, left to right- LeeLee, Lucy and Holly. We actually have a 4th Girlie... a 7 year old Yorkie that was rescued from a puppy mill.... she had had 10 litters in 7 years, and was so underweight, when we saw her, my heart just broke, and we brought her home to join our crowd....Now, miss Lexi is the Queen, and all get along well. One of these days. I will have to try to get all 4 of them in a photo.... easier said than done!!!! BTW, they are all " old ladies" the youngest is 7, the oldest, 9, but my DH does not allow us to refer to them using the D-word(dog) ... so, puppies it is!!! Maureen

Hi Maureen - I read your posting on the USA group about the importing of stuff into south Africa. One of the things that came to mind was an article by a doctor who worked to get baby stuff into the area where I live. She was told that 'unscrupulous individuals' managed to get their hands on items meant for charity and sold them for their own gain. The SA gov.t restricted importation of charity stuff, in particular second hand clothing unless the president declares a state of emergency/national disaster. This may have trickled down the line and that is one of the reasons that squares may get easier access into the country because who is going to nick a box of squares?
You can find this info' on the web site KZN Baby Pack (a charity dear to my own heart as it is literally on my back door-step) - second hand clothing dilemma.

Hi Maureen

Welcome to our warm KAS community. It's great to see you. We hope you will enjoy the forum and your region's group. You should join the USA group!

There are lots of great discussions going on in the forum, including the monthly challenges.

We have a challenge every month, if you want to get involved please do. It's not compulsory at all but some of the work done is just lovely. Have a look at the November challenge - the SLIP-OVER (under challenges in the main forum) this will give you an idea of some of the fantastic work this community is doing for the children of South Africa. Here is a link to the November challenge photos:

Thank you, to both Dawns, I appreciate the warm welcome.
I don't know much about these forums,.... old dog, new trick type problems!! But maybe I will learn something new! I love to knit baby items, ranging fromterm sized blankets to going home sweaters and even burial layettes.... And I also like to make mittens!! Squares are my favorite" I don;t have the time to start something new" project, or to do during a really good movie where I don;t have to pay attentiont to complicated directions!! HUGS, Maureen
