Donna Radu said… Hey, Jacqui,
You remind me of -- well, ME!
What I love about KAS is that every square, however expertly or INexpertly crafted, is welcomed and used. And in that uncritical atmosphere, members are free to grow in their knitting and crochet knowledge and skill, supported by friendly crafters who are themselves at many different points on the journey to yarn expertise!
I remember reading a comment shortly after I joined Square Circle forum, to the effect that a novice knitter had decided that it was more important that a child be warm than that her squares be perfect. And that's the guiding philosophy here; I love that!

Christine Johnson said… Hello Jacqui, welcome to the forum. As Donna says, do join the UK group, we'd love to have you. This site has become very big now and there's so much to look at and get used to but if you have any queries just ask - everyone is very friendly and supportive and there will always be someone happy to help.
Do you knit or crochet or both?

Oh, and DO join the U.K. discussion group -- from bargain yarn hints to knitting events, there always seems to be something interesting going on there!
